Heights.....!!!

I wanna write about people ....and i'm tired of writing about myself...and things happening around my radius of existence!!!

And I slowly realise that how deaf and non-receptive i've become to stuff happening around .
For example , this morning , I saw this young girl, very pretty,sitting under a huge tree, in a park nearby.She wasn't exactly very good looking , but somehow she had a very radiant face.A very Nandita Das ish face.I happened to be observing her more and more...and I noticed that she was talking to herself....questioning herself..answering herself at the same time, and in a few minutes from then, there were tears in her eyes.She didn't stop talking , by the way . And those tears showed real pain.After a few minutes , I saw the real pain coming up to her.
A man, maybe in his late forties...walks up to this girl, throws abuses at her
and before she could even retaliate ,slaps her so so very hard, drags her all the way out.

So many people around, no one bothers to stop him. Everyone looks on....
After this whole melodrama, there are hushed whispers around.An aunty nearby tells me that this man was the girl's husband!.Husband to a 18 yr old?????
I mean what is happening !!!..Women around especially in India, have to put up with so much of nonsense.I never wanted to sound like a feminist or something like that , but now I understand what they want to convey.Newspa pers screaming rape,child abuse and many other crimes against women,which I dont even feel like mentioning. I get goosepimples all over me, by the thought of a 35-40 yr old man raping a woman who was the age of his great grandmother!!!
Leave that aside, a normal middle class woman travelling in bus , has to take precautions of carrying safety pins, along for poking men who carry their libedo everywhere they go..!Female Infanticide is yet..yet ..yet prevalent!
Nine girls were burnt alive in a pit, because they were supposed to be soceresses,
and were thus held responsible for the bad crop...and the bad happenings in the village , in Delhi.I have yet not spoken about catcalls, eve-teasing.....ecetera..ecetra

Where is this all going to end?
And its called as the weaker sex ? That question is going to take a lot of time , to answer.....
By the way....Happy Girl Child Day!!!( sept 8th)...Its Celebration time...(boo)!
